Your Role
Key responsibilities in your new role
* Shape the future: Functional operation and optimization state-of-the-art MEMS characterization setups, stress-test equipment and precision instruments
* Take responsibility: Execution predefined electrical, mechanical and/or optical measurements on MEMS devices
* Keep the overview: Interface of laboratory equipment with controlling software
* Data is everything: Post-processing and documentation of experimental results using available frameworks, and analysis of acquired data
* Identify needs: Exploring new ideas and innovative approaches of advanced MEMS testing to enhance quality and reliability of MEMS technologies
Your Profile
Qualifications and skills to help you succeed
* Study field: Currently studying Physics, Electrical Engineering, Applied Engineering or a related field of study
* Experience: Have gained hands-on lab experience in a research or technology chair, R&D department, or through study and course projects
* Knowledge: Ideally have understanding about MEMS devices and/or have experience with optics and optical equipment, probe testing units. Also passionate about tackling multidisciplinary challenges that involve electronics, optics, measurements, analysis
* Skills: Are familiar with programming languages such as Matlab and Python, or willing to learn new tools
* Way of working: Show a systematic and self-driven working style, oriented towards problem solving, and willing to learn and enjoy working in a team
* Language skills: Have good German and English skills in speaking and writing

Important information:
* Working part-time: The focus is on studies. That’s why working as a student employee during lecture period is limited to a maximum of 20 hours per week.
* Proper students (according to the German law) are welcome: To work as a student employee with us, you must be enrolled at a university and not have completed all of your exams or modules for your degree programme. You must not be in a semester of leave. We look forward to welcoming you to our team for at least 6 months.
* You should live close to the site: For good collaboration, it is important to us that you can come to the office regularly to integrate to the team.
