Job Summary: The Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for managing and optimizing procurement, inventory, logistics, and vendor relationship. This role ensures the timely and cost-effective flow of materials across job sites, warehouses, and vendors, while driving process improvements, supporting data analysis, and contributing to supply chain strategy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Manage purchasing activities, including evaluating requisitions, issuing purchase orders, and ensuring timely delivery and order accuracy
• Oversee inventory management across multiple locations (warehouses, yards, and job sites), including reconciliations, audits, and cycle counts
• Coordinate logistics activities such as warehouse transfers, job site deliveries, and material returns, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
• Collaborate with suppliers to manage lead times, availability, backorders, and negotiate pricing or delivery terms as needed
• Analyze material demand, usage trends, and project forecasts to support inventory planning and replenishment strategies
• Review and reconcile material usage, purchase orders, and vendor invoices to ensure accurate cost allocation, job costing, and reporting
• Maintain and improve item master data and vendor records within inventory management and ERP systems
• Prepare and present supply chain performance reports, including stock levels, turnover rates, usage summaries, and vendor KPIs
• Partner with field operations to align material availability with construction schedules and milestones
• Identify and implement process improvements to reduce delays, control costs, and optimize material flow and logistics
• Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory records to support reporting, reconciliation, and decision-making
• Support compliance with Company procurement policies, supplier agreements, and safety standards related to material handling
• Lead or support special projects related to supply chain strategy, system enhancements, or vendor sourcing
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited four-year college or university
Experience:
• Two years of experience in supply chain, purchasing, inventory management, or logistics
• Wireless telecommunications or utility services industry experience preferred
• Experience with job site material handling and multi-location inventory management
• APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), or other similar industry credentials a plus
Technical Skills:
• Computer and Microsoft Office proficiency
• Proficiency with inventory management software, purchasing systems, or ERP systems
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Ability to analyze and apply supply chain metrics, such as lead times, fill rates, stock turnover, and material usage rates, to identify trends, support decision-making, and improve material planning and inventory accuracy
Soft Skills:
• Highly organized with the ability to manage complex inventory, purchasing, and planning activities with precision
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Effective communicator with ability to collaborate across departments and with external vendors
• Proactive problem solver with a focus on process efficiency and cost control
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines
• Flexible and responsive in a dynamic field-service setting, with the ability to adapt to changing business needs and project timelines while supporting coordination across the supply chain team
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets Company requirements
• Ability to sit and work at a computer workstation for extended periods (6–8 hours per day)
• Ability to work in warehouse or outdoor environments on occasion, which may involve exposure to varying weather conditions and moderate noise levels
• Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, when visiting warehouses, yards, or job sites
• Ability to lift and move materials up to 30 pounds, as required
• May be required to work irregular or extended hours, including evenings and weekends, depending on business needs
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time, including occasional short-notice travel
