Packer - Paper Packaging

TITLE: Packer  POSITION OBJECTIVE: Well established paper packaging manufacturer in the Waukegan/North Chicago area is seeking Packers to pack printed paper bags and sheets from the machines into cardboard cartons according to job specifications. First and second shift hours: 6am to 2pm and 2pm to 10pm. Monday – Friday. Paid lunch. Temp to hire    QUALIFICATIONS: Basic math adding and subtracting required. Basic reading and writing skills required. Some lifting required up to 25 pounds on occasion. Fast paced environment must be able to keep up with machines. Must be able to stand for entire shift. Previous manufacturing experience preferred. Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary. Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.   JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Read the job pockets for cartons and labeling. Pack bags into cartons per the job instructions. Inspect the bags while packing for defects. Keep up with the machine speeds. Keep accurate counts of bags per carton. Seal full cartons using tape gun and place on skid. Keep the work area clean.   WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION: Must adhere to all safety regulations, including the use of PPE. Fast-paced production floor with exposure to noise.   TRAINING: Must complete ongoing training as required.   PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION: Must be able to stand for shift work.
