Facilities and Water Treatment Specialist
Working under the Facilities and Maintenance Manager, the Facilities and Water Treatment Specialist performs daily tasks related to our water treatment units, maintaining departmental objectives in a manner consistent with our company standards. You will also help to maintain our recycling and waste management programs within our manufacturing and distribution facilities, while also performing some general facilities support. Responsibilities
~1 min read- Perform daily duties to ensure the water treatment units are operational and performing optimally at all Vancouver manufacturing facilities
- Support the implementation of internal and external initiatives for our water treatment program
- Complete all required documentation and ensure accuracy
- Collaborate with Maintenance and Facilities teams and the Sustainability team to oversee trends, quality pH levels etc. of all water treatment operations
- Manage the material handling of water treatment supplies and water treatment waste
- Maintain the organization and cleanliness of all 14 Special Recycling Area/Trailers
- Coordinate all movement of recycling materials between buildings (gloves, scrap etc.)
- Ensure properly marked spaces and signage for each collection stream
- Coordinate and manage list of items to be red-tagged, pick-ups, removals etc.
- Partner directly with haulers to oversee regular pick-ups and call in missed pick-ups
- Communicate to Sustainability/Facilities teams on any observations regarding under/over servicing
- Ensure all H&S requirements are met with regards to Hazardous waste
- Support set up and administration of all waste audits and competitions
- Support with program changes and implementation (training, physical set up)
- Perform physical tasks and check facilities. Assist with the clean up of trash and debris from building exterior and lot; remove snow and de-ice walks and lot; replace light bulbs.
- Be able to support basic facilities, for example: dismantling or assembling basic equipment, installation of barriers, basic carpentry.
Requirements

- Demonstrated proficiency in machinery operations
- Knowledge/training of TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods)
- Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills
- Proficient in using MS office programs – word, excel; ability to be trained in or use AX
- A health and safety mindset with ability to spot areas of opportunity, potential hazards and solutions
Nice to Have
~1 min read- Flexible to work shift work, weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime
- Valid Forklift License
- Well versed in Lush’s Health and Safety Program
- Well versed in Lush’s Green Practices & Initiatives
- First Aid Certified
