Internal and external candidates will be considered for this vacancy. For the purposes of this vacancy, internal candidates are defined as staff members holding a regular, fixed-term or short-term graded or ungraded contract, including Junior Professional Officers (JPOs), staff on Special Leave Without Pay (SLWOP), UN Volunteers with at least twelve (12) months of continuous service in IOM, and staff members on secondment/loan released by the Organization, unless otherwise specified in their contract. Staff members holding a regular, fixed-term or short-term graded contract will not retain their contract type if appointed to an ungraded position.

In close collaboration with national and local authorities and experienced Partners, in the context of the project "Helios+: Comprehensive actions for the integration of third-country nationals into the labour market' in the Region of Central Macedonia" with MIS Code 6018682 under the Programme “Central Macedonia 2021–2027”, IOM aims at promoting the integration of beneficiaries of international protection and temporary protection into the Greek society through activities for employability support, the provision of Greek language courses and vocational training, the support for independent living, including rental subsidies, activities promoting social cohesion and inclusion.

Under the overall supervision of the Regional Coordinator (Central Macedonia) and the direct supervision of the Project Team Lead (Integration), the successful candidate will have the following duties and responsibilities:

  1. Provide information to the eligible beneficiaries and perform their enrollment in the project.
  2. Monitor the progress of the beneficiaries’ integration through individual sessions.
  3. Conduct presentations to familiarize the beneficiaries with the European Way of Life.
  4. Organize psychosocial support sessions.
  5. Provide information to the beneficiaries about social welfare rights, housing, access to healthcare and education services, etc.
  6. Conduct referrals to other actors for cases in need of specialized further support.
  7. Coordinate with other project units, other actors and relevant authorities to ensure the needs of the beneficiaries are met.
  8. Evaluate requests for exemption from the obligation to register and/or attend the Greek language courses.
  9. Ensure accurate data entry and quality physical archiving of Means of Verification.
  10. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
  • University degree in psychology, social work or any other related field from an accredited academic institution with minimum one year of work experience.
  • Master’s degree in the above fields will be considered an advantage.
Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.
 
Experience
  • At least one year of previous work experience;
  • Professional license, where applicable;
  • Experience in working in a multi-cultural environment preferred.
Skills
  • Possess adequate combination of knowledge, education, training experience and skills to perform essential functions of the position;
  • Computer literacy in standard software applications;
  • Strong work ethics and commitment to humanitarian principles;
  • Valid driver’s license with at least five years driving experience an advantage.
Languages
 

All IOM staff members in all categories are required to be fluent in one of the IOM's official languages (English, French, Spanish).

For this position, fluency English and Greek (written and oral) is required.

Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
