Under the overall supervision of the Head of Operations, in coordination with the National Project Manager, and direct supervision of the Senior Project Associate – EDF Coordinator, the incumbent is responsible for undertaking the following duties and responsibilities:
- Assist in the implementation and monitoring of project activities.
- Retrieve, compile, summarize, and present information/data on specific project topics.
- Monitor budget; verify availability of funds; obtain necessary approval and update budget related information.
- Support administrative coordination of project implementation, involving liaison with diverse organizational units and external parties to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, process and follow-up on administrative actions, etc.
- Draft status reports, identifying shortfalls in delivery and bringing them to the attention of the supervisor.
- Draft correspondence, reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentations and other forms of documentation.
- Organize meetings, workshops and training sessions.
- Respond to general information requests and inquiries; set up and maintain files/records.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
~1 min read- High school diploma with at least four (4) years of relevant experience; or,
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Marketing and Sales, Economy, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with at least two (2) years of relevant professional experience.
Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.
- Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations;
- Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups; and,
- Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
- Proficiency in IT tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet, with the ability to prepare reports, presentations, and consolidate project information.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues, institutional counterparts, and implementing partners.
All IOM staff members in all categories are required to be fluent in one of the IOM's official languages (English, French, Spanish).
For this position, fluency in Spanish is required (oral and written).
Working knowledge of English is an advantage.
Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
