Principal Applications Developer

The Principal Applications Developer is a senior technical leader responsible for the design, delivery, and evolution of subsystems, capabilities, or cross-team initiatives. Principals are expected to make technical decisions that account for multiple perspectives and to actively guide teams toward sound, standard-aligned solutions, seeking broader agreement with development teams or management where appropriate. The role focuses on architectural integrity, technical strategy, and risk management across multiple teams or functional areas.

• →Lead the design and implementation of complex subsystems or solution capabilities end to end.
• →Translate high-level goals into coherent technical strategies aligned with solution direction and business objectives.
• →Select, evaluate, and recommend technologies, tools, and frameworks, guiding their adoption.
• →Evaluate solution approaches considering effort, risk, quality, operability, and long-term sustainability.
• →Deliver software initiatives of significant scope and complexity independently or with diverse teams.
• →Proactively identify, manage, and resolve cross-system dependencies and architectural risks.
• →Provide technical leadership during planning, execution, and critical problem resolution.
• →Mentor developers across the software delivery lifecycle and guide technical decision-making.
• →Represent technical viewpoints in reviews involving senior internal and external stakeholders.
• →Contribute independently to customer-facing and industry-related activities.

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering or applications development
• Expert-level knowledge of relevant technologies, platforms, and architectural patterns.
• Deep understanding of selected system domains with broad awareness of the wider solution landscape.
• Proven ability to influence technical direction across teams.
• Strong communication, leadership, and decision-making capabilities.
• Recognised expertise beyond immediate team or function.
