The Environmental Test Operator is responsible for performing environmental tests, including vibration tests and thermal vacuum (TVAC) tests, on optical communication terminals used in the aerospace industry. This role requires technical precision, adherence to strict quality standards, and the ability to operate specialized testing equipment to ensure product reliability and compliance with environmental specifications.
Responsibilities

- →Set up and operate vibration test systems according to defined procedures and test plans.
- →Perform functional and performance checks on optical communication terminals during and after vibration testing.
- →Analyze vibration test results and identify potential anomalies or failures.
- →Thermal Vacuum (TVAC) Testing:
- →Prepare equipment for thermal vacuum testing, including chamber setup, instrumentation, and calibration.
- →Monitor and control chamber conditions such as pressure, temperature, and thermal cycling to meet test specifications.
- →Record test data and document observations in real-time.
- →Test Documentation:
- →Complete and maintain detailed test reports, logs, and records in accordance with company and industry standards.
- →Ensure traceability of all test activities and outcomes.
- →Equipment Maintenance and Calibration:
- →Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of test equipment.
- →Identify and report equipment malfunctions or potential upgrades needed to ensure test accuracy and reliability.
- →Compliance and Safety:
- →Ensure all tests are performed in compliance with aerospace standards and protocols (e.g., ECSS, MIL-STD).
- →Adhere to workplace safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized testing environment.
- →Collaboration:
- →Work closely with engineers and other team members to understand test requirements and report results.
- →Support design engineers by providing insights into test outcomes to guide product improvements.
