Main Purpose of Job :



The Boarding Officer Team Lead is responsible for supervising a team of boarding officers and overseeing vessel boarding operations across Malaysian ports. This role ensures the smooth execution of port clearances, crew changes, and regulatory compliance for all vessel arrivals and departures. The Team Lead acts as the primary liaison between the company, port authorities, vessel personnel, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient and professional service delivery in line with local regulations and company policies.



Key Responsibilties :

  •  Lead, supervise, and support the day-to-day activities of the boarding officer team across assigned ports.
  • Assign vessel attendance schedules and ensure timely response to vessel arrivals, departures, and urgent requests.
  • Coordinate with customs, immigration, port health, and marine departments to ensure compliance with all port entry and clearance procedures.
  • Review and verify all documents related to crew changes, port clearance, ship stores, and cargo-related activities.
  • Ensure boarding officers adhere to safety protocols and company service standards when attending vessels.
  • Provide hands-on support by attending vessels during high-traffic periods, emergencies, or complex operations.
  • Train and mentor junior boarding officers; provide performance feedback and identify training needs.
  • Maintain accurate logs, boarding reports, and billing records for audit and invoicing purposes.
  • Act as the escalation point for any operational, regulatory, or crew-related issues at the port.
  • Liaise with clients, shipowners, and master’s to address inquiries, resolve operational delays, and ensure service 
    satisfaction.
  • Monitor compliance with ISPS Code, MLC, and other statutory regulations relevant to vessel boarding activities.



Key Accountabilities:

  • To be 24/7 available to all operational needs and concerns.
  • Update MMSW and SCS System
  • Liaise with related government authorities, eg, Custom, Immigration, Marine Department
  • Request for LD payment from Finance team
  • Attend to all customer quarries Emails / Optic / CLS / Diabos / Da Desk / etc.
  • Champion Cruise and Navy calls (Open/Close Appointment)
  • Delegate the task to team members effectively
  • Prepare the EPDA for Spot clients
  • Create appointment in One-DA
  • Ensure the vessel ATA/ATS and service line well updated by the team
  • Follow up with DA / Cash Flow team on closed appointment to ensure nil pending’s
  • Follow up with BO’s on vessel schedule and daily updates
  • Keep record on vendor usage for audit purpose (Transport / Boat / etc).
  • Adhere to additional task requested by superior.
