As the Research Budget Specialist - Ex- US at Iterative Health you will be a key player in our global research operations, owning ex-US clinical trial budgeting, contracting, and financial performance across our international site network. This role sits at the crossroads of finance and clinical operations — partnering closely with Clinical Operations, Finance, Legal, Business Development, and site leadership to keep study startup on track and sponsor relationships running smoothly. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, globally-minded finance professional with deep experience in clinical trial budget negotiations, a strong grasp of international contracting nuances, and the flexibility to operate across time zones as our European network continues to grow. 

Where You’ll Drive Impact 

  • Manage the development, negotiation, and execution of clinical trial budgets, Clinical Trial Agreements (CTAs), amendments, and related study agreements across a global network of research sites, with a primary focus on ex-US markets.
  • Develop and maintain standardized budgeting methodologies, negotiation tools, and country-specific rate cards.
  • Prepare sponsor budget estimates, feasibility assessments, and pricing analyses to support new study opportunities and partnerships.
  • Partner with Clinical Operations and site leadership to support study startup, activation metrics, and operational readiness.
  • Collaborate with post-award teams to ensure accurate invoicing and adherence to contractual payment terms.
  • Coordinate with Legal and Procurement teams to support contract compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Performs related duties as requested
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Healthcare Administration, Life Sciences, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in clinical trial budgeting, contracting, clinical research finance, or related research administration, including exposure to ex-US budget negotiations.
  • Flexibility to work starting at 6:00AM ET to support partial coverage of European time zones.
  • Experience negotiating clinical trial budgets and contracts with sponsors, CROs, and international research sites.
  • Working knowledge of clinical trial operations, study startup processes, and research financial management.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines in a fast-paced, global environment.

Requirements

  • Experience with Polish clinical trial budgets or familiarity with Central/Eastern European research market rates and contracting norms.
  • Background in healthcare technology, biotech, or a multi-site clinical research network.
