Power Apps Specialist (Part-time)

ITnova is seeking a part-time Power Apps Specialist to support application development, enhancements, and ongoing maintenance for a professional services engagement supporting the Aviation Department of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ).

The Power Apps Specialist will support the development and maintenance of the Airline Data Entry Portal (ADEP), a Microsoft Power Apps Canvas application used by more than 100 airlines to submit monthly activity and billing information.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Fx, SQL Server, and Azure, along with the ability to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.

• →Design, develop, test, and deploy enhancements to Microsoft Power Apps Canvas applications.
• →Troubleshoot and resolve application bugs, technical issues, and integration problems.
• →Gather and analyze business requirements and translate them into user stories and technical solutions.
• →Develop Power Automate workflows and business processes.
• →Integrate Power Apps with data sources including Microsoft Dataverse, SharePoint, and SQL Server.
• →Work with SQL Server tables, views, and stored procedures.
• →Participate in Agile sprint planning, weekly meetings, and continuous improvement activities.
• →Use Azure DevOps to document requirements, development activities, progress, and deployments.
• →Develop and maintain technical documentation, user guides, testing materials, and deployment documentation.
• →Ensure applications are efficient, scalable, user-friendly, and aligned with applicable technical and cybersecurity standards.
• →Stay current with Microsoft Power Platform features, tools, and best practices.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining Microsoft Power Apps Canvas applications.
• Hands-on experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power Fx.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including tables, views, and stored procedures.
• Experience integrating applications with multiple data sources, including Dataverse, SharePoint, and SQL Server.
• Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions.
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving application issues.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.
• Experience with Azure DevOps or a similar development/project tracking platform.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.

• Microsoft Power Platform Developer certification or related Microsoft credentials.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, including Azure SQL, Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Databricks, or Azure DevOps.
• Experience with Power BI.
• Experience supporting aviation, transportation, government, or other complex enterprise environments.
• Experience developing applications used for data collection, reporting, forecasting, or business operations.
• Experience providing user training and developing technical or user documentation.
• Experience working directly with non-technical users to gather requirements and explain technical solutions.

This is a remote, part-time position of up to 20 hours per week. Normal working hours are generally 9:00 AM–5:00 PM Eastern Time, Monday through Friday. The selected candidate should be available during these hours to collaborate with the team and respond to urgent issues when necessary. Occasional extended hours may be required to meet project or deployment deadlines.
