Work Location:          Southern Local School District, Columbiana County

 

Salary:                       Placement on adopted salary schedule according to training and experience                          

Beginning Date:          26-27 School Year

 

Contract:                   9-month contract

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

 

  • Master’s Degree- Speech-Language Pathology
  • Valid Ohio Speech and Language Therapist license through Ohio State Board of Education
  • Valid Ohio Speech and Hearing Professionals Board license
  • Knowledge of IDEA, special education procedures, and school-based therapy practices.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

 

Specific Duties:

 

  • Conduct speech-language evaluations, screenings, and reevaluations.
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans and IEP goals.
  • Provide direct and indirect speech-language therapy services to eligible students.
  • Deliver specially designed instruction (SDI) aligned with student IEPs.
  • Monitor student progress and maintain required progress documentation.
  • Participate in Evaluation Team Report (ETR) and IEP meetings.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, administrators, and related service providers.
  • Recommend and support classroom accommodations and communication strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records, therapy logs, Medicaid documentation, and confidential student files.
  • Ensure compliance with IDEA, Section 504, FERPA, and Ohio special education regulations.
  • Support students with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) needs as appropriate.
  • Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and district initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by administration.
