You will be the key partner of the People Team at JD Netherlands! The People Business Partner acts as a strategic HR partner supporting Retail all over our 35 stores in the Netherlands.  You will be responsible for delivering an end-to-end HR relations service while also supporting the People Manager in driving the people strategy across the business. In this role, you will help translate business priorities into people initiatives. You will combine strategic HR partnering with operational leadership and oversee the delivery of the HR cycle, providing coaching and guidance to managers, and supporting  the development of the People team. Besides that you will also lead HR projects and organisational initiatives that support the continued growth of JD Sports Netherlands.

Responsibilities

  • Support and provide day-to-day leadership and supervise a small HR admin team, including coaching and supporting HR Advisors in the delivery of HR services.
  • Responsible for the full HR lifecycle for colleagues across Retail, Head Office and Distribution Centre functions.
  • Provide coaching, guidance and strategic HR advice to managers across the business, supporting leadership capability and ensuring consistent people management practices including employee relations, performance management and development.
  • Manage complex employee relations cases, including sickness management and performance issues, ensuring compliance with Dutch labour law and internal policies.
  • Act as a point for people-related matters within the organisation.
  • Build effective relationships with senior stakeholders across Retail, Distribution Centre and Head Office functions, demonstrating the commercial value of the HR function.
  • Support HR local/global projects and initiatives across the Netherlands, including organisational development, onboarding improvements, engagement initiatives and HR process optimisation.
  • Use the group talent identification and mapping processes to assess and track talent across the organisation.
  • Partner with the Group L&D function to develop and implement talent development programmes and leadership initiatives.
  • Ensure HR policies, processes and procedures are implemented consistently across all business areas.
  • Support organisational design and workforce planning activities to ensure the business is structured effectively to meet growth objectives.
  • Manage headcount planning and talent acquisition strategy for assigned departments, working closely with the talent acquisition team.
  • Develop and utilise people metrics and HR analytics to provide insight to leadership teams and support data-driven decision making.
  • Develop retention strategies to ensure the organisation attracts and retains key talent within a competitive market.
  • Work with Group HR stakeholders to ensure alignment of HR policies and initiatives across European offices.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and act as a key contact for engagement programmes and feedback processes.
  • Analyse HR trends and metrics in partnership with the People team to support continuous improvement of people practices.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3+ years’ experience as HR Business Partner for the Dutch market
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources / Psychology / Law / Human Services or a related field is required
  • Strong knowledge of Dutch employment labour law and HR practices, preferably within a retail or multi-site environment.
  • Proven experience working in a business partnering role supporting senior stakeholders.
  • Experience mentoring junior HR team members or advisors.
  • Experience managing complex employee relations cases.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Experience leading HR initiatives or projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills.
  • Ability to balance operational HR delivery with strategic people initiatives.
