What matters to you in picking a law firm to start your career?
 
Compensation? If you seek above-market compensation, Jimerson Birr pays on par with big law without the big law bureaucracy or the modern-day indentured servitude. If you are looking to be a mid-level cog for 10-20 years at a corporate behemoth working for other soulless corporate behemoths to get a chance to make less than if you'd have made at a mid-law firm building your book of business from day one, we are not the right fit for you.
 
Experience? If you want to be outward-facing with clients, adversaries, and courts without having to wait 5-10 years, we offer you that opportunity in the first year. If you prefer doing belt and suspender work or holding briefcases for most of the next decade, we would not be a great fit for you and would look forward to being on the other side of the closing table or courtroom when you finally get your chance to compete.
 
Security? When the economy tanks, is it big-law or mid-law that lays off newly minted lawyers? Despite what you may think, big law offers you far less security than small or mid-law. At our firm, we don't hire people who we think cannot make partner and earn $400k+ per year within five years. We give people a playbook to make their job security.
 
Practice area/Industry exposure? If you want to try your hand in litigation, transactional, operational, or regulatory work representing businesses, we'll let you choose your path based on your talents and interests. We have needs in all areas, so we don't plan on pigeonholing any law students. We let you be the driver on your career journey.
