This role is responsible for the end-to-end management and strategic development of OTT content, ensuring high-quality programming that resonates with diverse audiences. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering successful original content on the OTT platform and a passion for innovative content creation.
 
About the team:
 
The team is responsible for creating and delivering innovative content that appeals to a wide range of viewers for the OTT platform. Through a combination of creative and culturally relevant content specials and shows execution, this team is critical in defining the Hotstar identity and increasing viewer engagement on the platform
  • Research and develop content concepts for digital platforms based on current trends as well as original programming ideas.
  • Lead the creation and development of original content specials including shows, talk shows, and web series.
  • Ensure all content aligns with platform quality standards, cultural values, and brand positioning.
  • Collaborate with external content creators, production houses, and independent filmmakers to acquire exclusive, innovative, and compelling content. Maintain strong relationships with talent and content partners for OTT initiatives.
  • Experiment with new storytelling formats and emerging technologies to enhance viewer engagement.
  • Stay updated on global and regional OTT trends and innovations to keep the platform competitive and relevant.
  • Use data-driven insights and audience research to guide content strategy and decision-making.
  • Analyse content performance using data analytics and refine creative strategies accordingly.
  • Partner closely with Marketing, PR, and Creative Communications teams to support content launches and promotions.
  • Ensure all delivered content meets Standards & Practices (S&P) requirements
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of digital rights related to video and audio content, including their applications and implications.
  • Work closely with Legal and Compliance teams on content and rights management.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with regional channel programming teams.
  • Good command over Malayalam language and culture. 
  • Strong ideation, storytelling, creative and evaluation skills 
  • Proven experience in creating and/or leading successful fiction properties; a strong team player with leadership capabilities.
  • A challenger mindset with a willingness to take calculated risks and strive for excellence.
  • Excellent communication, persuasion & negotiation skills
  • Graduate and/ or P.G. in Mass Communication, Film & TV Production Any course in Scripting / writing/visual media will be an added advantage
  • Story/screenplay writers with Malayalam language proficiency (read, write, and speak)              
  • Experience in the OTT space is highly desirable
  • Candidates with a minimum of 8-10 years of work experience in visual media, channel, or production house.
  • GEC experience will be an added advantage
