The role of the Physiotherapist within Amana Living is to provide physiotherapy services to residents within Amana Living’s residential care facilities. Our Physiotherapists assess the physical and mobility needs of residents. They plan person-centred interventions that aid residents to maintain or improve their functional ability and quality of life, and deliver and evaluate these therapeutic interventions. We are currently seeking applications from experienced and proactive Physiotherapists to provide support at our Thomas Scott Hostel in Camillo, and Parry Care Centre in Lesmurdie.
This role is offered on a permanent part time basis working 2 days a week, 28 hours per fortnight on the following roster:
Monday: 0830 – 1600 (Parry Care Centre)
Wednesday: 0830 – 1600 (Thomas Scott Hostel)
Monday: 0830 – 1600 (Parry Care Centre)
Wednesday: 0830 – 1600 (Thomas Scott Hostel)
Please note, you must be able to commit to all days/shifts to be considered.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Conduct comprehensive assessments that identify residents’ mobility, falls risk and physical ability.
- →Contribute to the development of holistic, individualised, resident-focussed care plans in partnership with the resident and their carer/advocate and Amana Living team
- →Provide individualised physiotherapy interventions and services, including equipment prescription, to enable residents to maintain mobility, reduce risk of falls, and maximise quality of life.
- →Conduct frequent reviews of treatment objectives and interventions to ensure their continued application, efficacy and outcomes
- →Contribute to the development and monitoring of group exercise programs in assigned residential care sites. This includes ensuring compliance of the physiotherapy therapy program with the Aged Care Quality and Safety Standards.
- →Maintain current knowledge of contemporary physiotherapy practice and ensure all clinical practice is in accordance with the relevant legislative requirements, professional code of ethics, professional code of conduct and available evidence.
- →Ensure all documentation is timely, accurate and maintained and actioned in accordance with the Amana Living Clinical Governance Framework, organisational policies and procedures and confidentiality agreement.
- →Consult with Amana Living staff in a multi-disciplinary manner including making recommendations for involvement of other allied health professionals.
The successful candidate will demonstrate experience in physiotherapy assessment and program development, and the delivery of evidence-based physiotherapy interventions within the Aged Care or Health Services sector. You will apply superior interpersonal skills, communicating with residents and their families, as well as team members to facilitate positive outcomes.
- Bachelor of Science (Physiotherapy)
- Current Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA).
- Experience leading teams, motivating others and collaborating to achieve objectives
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and manage time effectively
- Advanced written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Evidence of Flu vaccinations per Amana Living policies
- Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance (within 6-months validity)
- NDIS Screen (or willingness to obtain at interview stage)
- Successful completion of pre-employment physical and reference checks
