In Arnhem, The Netherlands, we are looking for a Power Cybernetics Engineer-Researcher with a strong background in the field of power electronics, specifically with its application in power systems.
You will be responsible to further develop our existing and upcoming services in the area of Power Cybernetics as well as for creating new or related services for KEMA Labs to position the company for further growth within the power system industry.
In particular you will be working on the development of sophisticated closed-loop testing and validation methods of power equipment (such as Photovoltaic-inverters, plug-in electrical vehicles, heat pumps, etc.), including its hardware testing, simulation and software model validation, in a professional laboratory environment.
The FPG Lab participates in strategic research programs and projects to acquire new knowledge and competence, to develop new services to create value for KEMA Labs and our customers, as well as to enhance KEMA Labs’ recognition as a technology leader in selected areas.
The FPG Lab has a long history of working closely with laboratory partners within the DERLab association, with industry partners within the ISGAN initiative, with international standardization bodies; and universities such as Delft University of Technology and Eindhoven University of Technology.
Requirements
~1 min readYou have at least a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics (Ph. D. preferred);
You have solid knowledge on power systems, its operation and specifically its protection;
You have solid knowledge on power electronic principles, its control and power conversion applications;
You have solid knowledge on power electronic and power system modelling;
You have solid knowledge on power electronic and power system (digital) simulation;
Experience with real-time-simulation is an advantage; Like HIL testing or else.
Experience with co-simulation or hardware-in-the-loop techniques is an advantage;
Experience with laboratory testing is an advantage;
