What We Offer

✓A valid Class 1 or 2 driver's license with air brake endorsement; upgrades will also be considered for candidates meeting all other criteria.

✓Driver's abstract with no more than 5 demerit points and a demonstrated record of safe and responsible driving over the past 5 years.

✓Significant skills dealing effectively with the public, including demonstrated skills in conflict resolution, problem solving, and sound decision-making in positions providing customer service.

✓Ability to understand, speak, and write English in order to communicate effectively with the traveling public and to report on incidents involving safety and/or service.

✓No criminal convictions or pending charges relating directly to the Operator position.

✓A good knowledge of Whistler and area is a definite asset.

✓Willingness to participate in a comprehensive recruitment process which consists of interviews, trainability session, medical examination (as required for licensing), drug and alcohol screening, and criminal record checks.

Safely transport passengers on a number of assigned routes in Whistler, Squamish and Pemberton.
Transport customers in accordance with Municipal and Company policies, observing all traffic laws and safety rules and adhering to time schedules.
Courteously and professionally interact with customers.
Make general announcements to customers.
Collect correct fares and ensure valid passes are presented.
Manage passenger behaviour by quickly and effectively solving problems.
Drive safely and responsibly and be prepared for all road and traffic conditions.

Complete a variety of vehicle and incident reports as required.
Carry out emergency/accident procedures when required.
Answer inquiries en route.
