Bachelor's Degree (BA) in Criminal Justice, Social Work, Corrections or related field preferred or equivalent combination of training and/or experience required.
Our team, providing services in all of Region 8, is committed to reducing crime and recidivism, which requires working with partners on the many layers of support, education, and services necessary to guide at-risk or previously incarcerated individuals. We focus on transitioning these individuals back into the workforce so that they can seamlessly return to independent living.
Our long-term outcome is to give the individual tools and resources in which they can add strategies that are effective in assisting returning citizens to gain entry into suitable, meaningful and long-term employment. This position is responsible for delivering social support services to, and the data management of returning citizens in the tri-county area, as well as contract monitoring for Health and Behavioral Health providers for all seven counties in region 8. The specialist is also expected to recommend best practices for Offender Success protocols and continuously improve efficiency and cost effectiveness in relation to support purchases such as food and hygiene.
- Collaborate with Michigan Department of Corrections parole agents on support services for parolees including needs assessments.
- Conduct video in-reaches with MDOC prisons to document needs upon reentry to paroling county.
- Facilitate supportive services for parolees, including but not limited to vital documents, transportation, food, and clothing including bulk purchasing when required.
- Manage MI SOS relationship and create, distribute, track and reconcile all MI SOS vouchers.
- Manage and monitor vendors providing mental and behavioral health services including but not limited to contractual outcomes, performance, compliance and curriculum delivered.
- Manage and maintain data collection related to social support and health and behavioral health services to ensure effective reporting.
- Serve as a resource for One-Stop Center frontline staff in serving parolees and facilitating reverse referrals with Michigan Department of Corrections parole agents.
- Process and track invoices for all services provided in Social Support and Health and Behavioral Health service parameters.
- Reconcile vouchers, receipts and invoices for services provided.
- Assist with housing checks and support services for parolees.
- Analyzing processes and updating protocols for efficiency in secretary of state partnership, and process for purchasing food and hygiene.
- Stay abreast of available community resources and recommend implementation to maximize OS grant funds.
- Manage participant files including services, support, and updated case notes marking progress of participant.

Requirements
