The Kingfish Company is a leader in sustainable aquaculture, producing high-quality yellowtail kingfish using advanced land-based systems. As a listed company on Euronext Growth Oslo, we operate in a dynamic, fast-paced and highly regulated environment.

As our Financial Accountant, you are eager to roll up your sleeves, improve processes and take part in building a fast-growing scale-up. In this role, you will execute and support on several financial processes: accounts payable, accounts receivable, accounting and cash management.

You will report to the Head of Finance Operations, and with the support of your team you will be responsible for a timely, accurate and reliable execution of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash- and Banks and General-Ledger Accounting.

Post Maritech AR invoices in the financial system
You deliver an aging reporting
You follow up on late payments
You execute the credit collection process in cooperation with the sales and customer service teams

You support in Month-end closing on accruals, cost-allocations, journal entries.
Responsible of inventory counts (feed, technical/maintenance stock)
Support in yearly external audit

You prepare the weekly Sales Report
To report and analyze actual costs against budget/prior year and discuss this with cost center owners
To support with the yearly Budget process and any other ad-hoc reporting

You support/initiate on improvement projects

You are back up for the Purchase-to-Pay process from purchase order / contract to payment of invoices.
You ensure that invoices are recorded in an accurate and timely manner.
You proactively follow-up on overdue payments

You prepare outgoing supplier, currency and manual payments
You daily post bank statements, and settle supplier- and customer payments

A completed degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Economics
Experience in a similar finance or accounting role
Good knowledge of AP, AR, and general ledger accounting processes
Strong attention to detail and a proactive mindset
Affinity with process improvement and optimization
Good communication skills in both Dutch and English

Accounts Receivable is an important part and will be more important most probably in the near future, so having experience with that would really help, next to AP and General Ledger accounting experience.

The role is based at our head office and plant in Kats (close to Goes and Zierikzee)

The Kingfish Company is a pioneer and leader in sustainable land-based aquaculture. We produce the yellowtail kingfish (also known as Ricciola/Hiramasa/Greater Amberjack) which is a highly versatile premium fish species, well known in the Italian and Asian fusion cuisines.

Our operation is based on three core principles: sustainability, respect for our fish, and the environment. These key principles are at the heart of our design, activity, and technology decisions. Production of our fish is based on advanced recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS), which create the ideal growth environment for kingfish, offer optimal biosecurity, and limit the environmental impact. Animal welfare is paramount and our fish are grown without the use of antibiotics and vaccines. Operations run on 100% renewable energy, sourced from wind, solar, and biogas and the company’s facilities operate on seawater to avoid wasting precious fresh water.
