The Art Director is responsible for leading multidisciplinary creative work from concept through final delivery. This is a hands-on leadership role that provides direction to motion graphic designers, UX/UI designers, and graphic designers while establishing the visual standards that guide all marketing creative. The role ensures that promotional videos, explainer videos, announcements, marketing website design, social media graphics, pitch decks, one-pagers, icons, and other marketing materials communicate clearly, support campaign goals, and present KnowledgeCity consistently across every channel.
Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Own and define the creative direction for KnowledgeCity’s marketing across motion graphics, marketing site UX/UI, graphic design, and campaign creative.
- →Lead motion graphic designers in producing promotional videos, product explainer videos, feature and company announcements, social media video content, advertisements, and other branded video assets.
- →Translate marketing objectives, product messaging, and campaign concepts into clear visual directions, storyboards, style frames, design systems, and production plans.
- →Review and approve motion design work for composition, typography, animation quality, pacing, transitions, footage, sound integration, and overall brand alignment.
- →Lead the UX/UI design direction for the KnowledgeCity Marketing Site, landing pages, campaign pages, and other customer-facing digital marketing experiences.
- →Ensure marketing website designs are intuitive, responsive, accessible, conversion-focused, and consistent across desktop and mobile experiences.
- →Oversee the UX/UI designer's end-to-end ownership of designing and implementing approved Marketing Site design and development, ensuring each landing page is accurate, responsive, accessible, fully functional, and aligned with brand standards.
- →Oversee graphic design for marketing site icons and illustrations, social media, pitch decks, one-pagers, advertisements, email campaigns, event materials, and other marketing needs.
- →Establish and maintain visual standards for logos, colors, typography, iconography, illustration, photography, video treatments, layouts, and motion design.
- →Build and maintain a scalable marketing design system, template library, and organized repository of approved creative assets and source files.
- →Ensure all creative work presents KnowledgeCity as a professional, trusted, and innovative workforce development partner for HR, L&D, and business decision-makers.
- →Provide clear creative briefs, references, feedback, and final approvals so designers understand the objective, audience, message, format, and expected quality of each deliverable.
- →Assign and prioritize creative work across the design team based on marketing needs, deadlines, team capacity, and business impact.
- →Manage creative timelines, review cycles, dependencies, and delivery status to ensure projects are completed accurately and on schedule.
- →Collaborate with Content, Product Marketing, Demand Generation, Sales, Product, and leadership to develop cohesive creative solutions for launches and campaigns.
- →Develop coordinated visual systems for new product launches, product suites, campaigns, events, and major company announcements.
- →Adapt creative concepts appropriately for different channels and formats while preserving a consistent brand identity and message.
- →Evaluate and improve creative workflows, review processes, file organization, and production standards to increase quality, speed, and scalability.
- →Identify inconsistencies, quality gaps, and creative risks early, then provide direction and follow-through until the final work meets company standards.
- 7+ years of experience in art direction, visual design, brand design, motion graphics, digital design, or a related creative role.
- 2+ years of experience leading, mentoring, or providing creative direction to a multidisciplinary design team.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality work across motion graphics, marketing website UX/UI, graphic design, branding, and campaign creative.
- Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, including After Effects, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign, along with strong proficiency in Figma.
- Strong understanding of motion design and video production workflows, including concept development, storyboarding, style frames, animation, editing, and post-production.
- Strong understanding of UX/UI principles for marketing websites, including responsive design, usability, accessibility, visual hierarchy, and conversion-focused experiences.
- Proven experience developing and maintaining brand guidelines, design systems, templates, and visual standards across multiple channels.
- Ability to translate business objectives, audience needs, product messaging, and campaign strategy into clear and effective creative concepts.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple creative projects, deadlines, review cycles, and team assignments.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to provide clear feedback, lead constructive critiques, and collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in B2B SaaS, technology, eLearning, HR technology, or a related industry is preferred, along with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
