As a Research Analyst, you will contribute to the expansion of Kpler’s middle distillates research coverage with a focus on the Middle East and its role within global distillates markets. This role contributes to day-to-day market analysis, data interpretation, and research production, while building expertise in regional supply-demand balances, refinery systems, and cross-basin trade flows. You will work closely with senior team members to develop actionable insights, support client engagement, and strengthen Kpler’s presence across Middle East and Asia-linked distillates markets.You will instinctively collaborate with our global desks to ensure our market view is collective, validated, and world-class.
Conduct structured analysis of middle distillates markets (diesel/gasoil/jet), linking flows, fundamentals, and pricing
Monitor and interpret key market indicators, including refinery runs, inventories, trade flows, and pricing structures
Track and analyse Middle East export flows and their impact on global balances, particularly into Europe, Africa, and Asia
Support the production of written research (Market Pulse, Insights, short-form commentary) with clear, data-backed narratives
Track and synthesise key regional developments (refinery operations, policy changes, export trends) for internal and external distribution
Collaborate with senior analysts to develop market views and thematic research
Support client engagement efforts, including responding to queries and contributing to presentations or webinars
2–4 years of experience in refined products markets, with exposure to middle distillates
Familiarity with Middle East and/or Asia distillates markets, including export-oriented trade flows
Fundamental knowledge of supply and demand (S&D) balances and how they influence trade flows and pricing
Understanding of key regional dynamics, including refinery systems, export infrastructure, and trade linkages
Experience contributing to market analysis and written research outputs
Experience working with structured datasets to support analysis
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Previous experience using Kpler data or other cargo tracking tools
Network of market contacts
Experience with SQL, Python, or other data science tools
