Role:
To support KSL’s continued growth and evolving strategic goals, the FP&A team is seeking a highly motivated manager to lead key reporting initiatives and contribute to the firm’s financial and operational decision-making. This role will be instrumental in driving the development and execution of the Firm’s portfolio reporting framework and will serve as a critical liaison across Deal Teams, Strategic Operations, Fund Operations, and Portfolio Companies.
This position will be responsible for the preparation and delivery of high-quality reporting and analysis, ensuring consistency and accuracy, and identifying opportunities for process improvement. The position will also involve managing workflows with offshore resources and requires strong analytical judgement, excellent written communication skills, and the ability to independently lead multiple workstreams in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and review work produced by offshore resources, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and adherence to reporting standards
- Leverage BI tools and data platforms to improve portfolio company performance reporting and data collection processes to provide reporting efficiency, data visualization and insight generation
- Build and maintain company performance models that deliver detailed insights to internal teams and external Limited Partners
- Produce and analyze weekly, monthly and quarterly portfolio company reporting packages to enable thorough review of portfolio company performance
- Ensure consistency and standardization of reporting across portfolio companies to support portfolio monitoring, valuations, investor reporting, and key strategic initiatives
- Develop and produce performance tearsheets, dashboards and ad-hoc analytical summaries
- Produce clear, concise written analyses and presentation materials tailored to senior leadership and external stakeholders
- Oversee the onboarding of new portfolio companies by working with management and Deal Teams to define and track key performance metrics
- Partner closely with Deal Teams, Strategic Operation, Fund Operations and Portfolio Company finance teams to align on data, analysis and deliverables
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or related field
- 5+ years of professional experience in an analytical role within financial services
- Excellent operational, organizational and follow-up skills with the ability to manage and process complex operational work
- Experience in a project-based and/or deal-driven environment – i.e., private equity, consulting, transaction, advisory
- Exceptional verbal, written and listening communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and data analytical skills – the ability to work with large datasets, frame and breakdown problems, and synthesize themes and insights from analyses (problem solving includes both quantitative and qualitative information)
- Ability to multitask and prioritize without feeling overwhelmed and quickly pivot from one task to another
- Advanced Microsoft Suite skills experience
- Working knowledge of system platforms and/or business intelligence tools
