Event Services is the functional area responsible for leading the planning and delivery of all customer-facing operations, ensuring a safe, efficient, and welcoming experience for all spectators and stakeholders during the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Event Services FOH Senior Manager is a dynamic and organized event professional responsible for ensuring world-class service delivery. They will develop the Event Services venue plan and operations for a specific venue and work closely with other functional areas within the venue team. This role is integral to guaranteeing the smooth delivery of the Event Services and FOH operations, monitoring and reporting on day-to-day activities. The Manager will lead a diverse team in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment to provide a seamless spectator experience.

Create and implement the Event Services operations plan for a specific venue, ensuring integration with the rest of the organizing committee’s plan.

Complete and track the progress of the Master Schedule for a specific venue.

Monitor the progress of venue planning with a focus on risk issues and enforcing Work Health and Safety procedures.

Plan and oversee crowd flow design and implementation, ensuring smooth ingress and egress plans prevent bottlenecks and long queues.

Liaise with relevant stakeholders to plan and implement safe and efficient stakeholder paths for ingress and egress.

Plan, scope, and manage all resources such as equipment and staff to ensure efficient and high-quality delivery of Event Services & FOH operations.

Oversee the planning and installation of temporary FOH Infrastructure.
- →
Manage and train the Event Services team, including Supervisors, Team Leaders, and Hosts (volunteers).

Deliver Supervisor training and the Event Services component of the Venue Specific Training.

Adhere to service levels, policies, and procedures, identifying gaps, overlaps, and synergies.

Apply the guidelines and legislation pertinent to spectator management activities at games venues.

Uphold high standards, including resolving issues that arise on venue such as seating issues, complaints, and re-deployment requirements.

Conduct regular briefings and debriefings for paid staff and volunteers.

Motivate and engage the volunteer workforce, ensuring high energy levels and excellent customer service.

Represent Event Services at Venue Event Team Meetings.

Prepare post-event reports on FOH and Event Services performance, staffing, and revenue.

Work in collaboration with and with the support of the Event Services Central Team, including the Cluster Manager.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required or preferred.

Certifications required or preferred.

Proven experience as a lead planner (7+ years) working in international sports and/or venues.

Experience leading large teams.

Experience or knowledge of the local market will be an added benefit.

Strengths in: high energy levels, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leadership, effective negotiation skills, excellent communication skills, and positive relationship-management skills.

Excellent English skills, including writing, communication, and presentation.

Proficient in Microsoft suites.

Available to work onsite in our Downtown Los Angeles-based office.

The majority of work will be conducted in an office setting, requiring extended periods of time using computers, phones, and other office equipment.

The LA28 office is an open floorplan working environment; employees must be able to work efficiently in an open cubicle environment.

Hours of work may vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially during peak event periods.

The role will evolve over time and may include operational responsibilities during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The annual base salary range for this position is $104,000 - $124,000. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
LA28 does not provide relocation assistance.
