Founded in 1967, Lakeland Community College now serves more than 5,000 students annually and provides a continuum of education, from offering college credit courses for high school students to preparing students for the workforce upon completion of certificates, associate degrees or transfer to a four-year institution. We are seeking an instructor who will provide on-campus, in-person instruction in Economics and student support to community college students. The available open positions are both for in-person ECON 1150 Basic Economics courses. Successful candidates may have the possibility of teaching in-person sections of ECON 2500 Macroeconomics and ECON 2600 Microeconomics should a future need arise.
This course provides an introduction to basic economics and its implications for economic problems and policies. The course aids students in the development of the understanding of the American economic system. This course is not recommended for students who intend to take or who have taken ECON 2500 Principles of Macroeconomics or ECON 2600 Principles of Microeconomics.

Requirements

Ideal: Ph.D., Economics
Minimum work experience: Some experience teaching college-level basic economics classes.
Preferred: Experience teaching college-level basic economics classes in a community college setting.
