This is a key interim leadership opportunity to maintain strong financial control, governance and operational finance delivery across Landmark. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will lead financial accounting and transactional finance activities, ensuring a robust month-end close, disciplined cash and working capital management, audit readiness and compliance with accounting policies and controls. Alongside stable day-to-day delivery, you will provide reliable financial information to finance leadership and support targeted improvements to processes, systems and controls.
The role will involve:
- Maintaining a strong internal control environment across financial accounting, transactional finance and cash management, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Leading the financial accounting team to deliver an accurate and timely month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations and reporting submissions.
- Overseeing credit control and purchase ledger activity, including debt collection, supplier payments, operational service levels and working capital discipline.
- Supporting cashflow forecasting, bank reconciliations and working capital reporting, providing clear insight on cash, debt and supplier payment performance.
- Maintaining audit readiness, support statutory and Group reporting requirements, and ensure internal and external audit actions are progressed promptly.
- Leading, coaching and supporting the finance operations team while driving practical improvements to data quality, reporting accuracy, process efficiency and financial controls.
You are an experienced finance leader who combines strong technical knowledge with a practical, delivery-focused approach. You bring sound judgement, attention to detail and the confidence to challenge and escalate appropriately, while building effective relationships across Finance, operational teams and external partners. You can create clear priorities, support your team through an interim period and identify improvements without losing focus on control, accuracy and day-to-day delivery.
- A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with strong experience in financial control, financial accounting or finance operations.
- Strong knowledge of internal controls, balance sheet governance, month-end close processes, reconciliations and financial reporting.
- Experience managing transactional finance activity, including credit control and purchase ledger operations.
- Experience supporting audit, statutory reporting or Group reporting requirements, with a clear focus on accuracy, evidence and compliance.
- Strong analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to provide clear operational finance updates, identify risks and manage competing priorities.
- A collaborative people leader with experience of coaching teams and improving finance processes; multi-entity or Group finance experience would be advantageous.
