Licensure:

• Meet or be willing to meet the State School Administrator’s Certification.
• Possess a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate.
• Meets approval criteria or has current approval as a local CTE Administrator based on requirements established by the Michigan Department of Education and Office of Career and Technical Education.

Education, Training & Experience:

• Master’s degree in Teaching, Educational Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction, or other CTE related field preferred.
• Five (5) years of successful teaching experience and two (2) years of administrative experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Demonstrates knowledge and expertise with the implementation of CTE programs and services.
• Passionate desire to work in an urban setting making a positive difference for all students.
• Ability to establish and maintain appropriate level of authority as well as creating an atmosphere of support and confidence for students and staff.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate and leverage strengths within a team setting.
• Demonstrated ability to build effective partnerships to accomplish goals across K-12 education, higher education and community/business stakeholders.
• Understand, support, and implement tenets of the Michigan Career Development Model.
• Established ability to prioritize tasks based on district and school performance goals.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively, orally, and in writing, using a multitude of platforms.
• Ability to collect and use data within a strategic planning and continuous improvement process to inform and adjust CTE programs/services.
• Demonstrated experience using research-based instructional strategies that engage students and yield positive academic gains.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Adopt school routines, procedures, and expectations that create an environment focused on instructional outcomes and student growth.
• Provide administrative support to CTE students and staff, ensuring the consistent implementation of CTE policies and procedures.
• Serve as the primary administrator for the daily operation of all CTE programs, related activities, field trips, and work-based learning opportunities.
• Ensure that CTE programs delivered at the Hill Center are rigorous, relevant, technologically advanced and effective in promoting student achievement and preparing students for future employment, training, and/or higher education.
• Assists in planning, developing and implementing professional development activities and CTE initiatives which are in alignment with the goals and strategies of the district’s strategic plan and the CTE Advisory Committee(s).
• Identify, collect and maintain records, documents, data and information related to the operation of CTE programs, including student enrollment, student discipline, certifications, student attendance and grades as required or requested.
• Perform regular classroom walk-throughs and provide teacher feedback in accordance with the appropriate staff performance evaluation system.
• Provide technical assistance, leadership and coordination for all Hill Center programs to meet state and/or federal guidelines/requirements.
• Assist in the district’s selection and hiring processes to recruit and employ qualified CTE staff.
• Provide support and leadership to assigned CTE staff with implementation of Multi-Tiered Systems of
Support (MTSS) to assist all students in attaining college and career readiness outcomes.
• Develop, implement and manage assigned CTE budgets and purchasing procedures for CTE programs.
• Maintain communicate and be the liaison to partnering CTE programs: Eaton RESA’s Career Preparation
Center and Ingham ISD’s Wilson Talent Center
• Other duties as assigned.
