As a Community Bank, we provide personalized banking services and solutions to support the businesses, individuals, and charitable organizations of the Kansas City Metropolitan Area, both in branch and online. We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Specialist to join our finance team. The Accounting Specialist will be responsible for maintaining financial records, processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and assisting with various accounting tasks. This individual will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our accounting processes.
Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
Assist with invoice processing
Reconcile bank statements, general ledger accounts, and other financial data.
Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Monitor accounts for discrepancies and resolve issues as they arise.
Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and supporting data.
Analyzing daily fluctuations in the general ledger
Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper filing and organization of documents.
Build-up your accounting knowledge through peer support, researching accounting guidance, and documenting conclusions.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
~1 min read1-2 years accounting/finance experience
Accounting or finance degree preferred
Google Documents / Sheets or Microsoft Suite experience preferred
Client obsessed mentality
Willingness to take on new challenges in a fast-paced startup environment
Strong judgment, instincts, attention to detail and analytical skills
Self starter, engaged, proactive and ready to roll up your sleeves
