About the Role

Provide active support to 5 people with disability living in Mitcham. The people you will be supporting have varying levels of support required and so, to provide best support the successful candidate will have previous experience as a disability support worker with confidence across behaviour support, personal care, manual handling and high physical support needs.

You will be a dedicated and compassionate support worker who is passionate about active support and helping people achieve their goals and dreams. You must be able to commit to the set permanent part time roster below which includes a mixture of short morning and afternoon shifts (no overnight shifts).

  • Facilitate client goal achievement through meaningful activities
  • Maintain thorough record keeping
  • Build positive relationships with clients, families and colleagues
  • Advocate for client choice and control

Requirements

  • Experience with high physical support needs
  • A commitment to supporting and promoting the individual needs, skills, abilities and personal goals of people with disabilities.
  • Ability to develop a positive relationship with clients and to support their Individual Personal Plan.
  • Confidence and experience in providing personal care
  • Experience in manual handling
  • Cert IV in Disability or similar
  • A current Senior First Aid (level 2) Certificate.
  • A current unrestricted Driver Licence and willingness to drive a company van.

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check and an International Criminal History Record Check; if you have resided for 12 months or more outside of Australia in the last 10 years.
