This house is located at Dapto. There is one young person who is 12 years old. This young person is kind, caring and creative. They adore animals and enjoy participating in sensory-based activities, cooking, music, singing and dancing, along with outings to the zoo and to dog parks.

Our ideal candidates must have experience connecting with and supporting with young people who have received a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (level 2) and ADHD. Exposure to individuals living with a mild intellectual disability and language delay is well-regarded.

The ability to remain calm, have an empathetic approach, while able to confidentially hold and maintain boundaries is essential.

This residential home operates 24/7, therefore successful applicants will need to be able and willing to work a roster which regularly includes afternoon, overnight (including sleepover) and weekend shifts. 

• Hold or be actively completing a Diploma level (or higher) qualification in Community Services or a related field OR have relevant work history and are willing to complete a Diploma of Child, Youth & Family Intervention offered by LWB (at no cost to you!) and willing to be employed on a permanent basis.

(Please note: a qualification is desirable but not essential for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants with relevant experience)

• A current Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) certificate
• A current driver’s licence
• Willingness to assist with activities of daily living, including personal care (if required)
• Able to work a roster pattern that includes shifts across afternoon, overnight (including sleepover) and weekends

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check, NSW Working with Children Check and NSW Residential Care Workers Register check.
