We are building an AI native company where AI is an integral part of how we build and operate. AI tool usage during interviews varies by role. You may be asked to demonstrate proficiency with AI tools, discuss how you leverage AI, or complete interview exercises without AI assistance. Your Recruiter will provide clear guidance as you move through the interview process.
Undisclosed use of AI not previously discussed with or approved by your Recruiter may impact your candidacy.
As you'd expect from a company obsessed with keeping families connected, the eCommerce team moves fast and takes the member experience seriously – because a clunky flow is its own kind of broken promise. Sitting inside Journey Marketing, were a mix of merchandisers, marketers, data folks, and designers who all care about the same thing: turning every member touchpoint — from first website or app visit — into long-term loyalty and lasting relationships. From the online store to in-app purchases to wherever commerce shows up next, this team builds the experience that turns interest into purchase. If you like owning outcomes, thinking in systems, and turning "maybe" into "yes" at scale, you'll fit right in.
About the Role
~2 min readAt Life360, the web experience is a major entry point where families decide whether to trust us with their safety and the safety of the people, pets, and things they love. Getting that experience right is both a design challenge and a research challenge, and we don't believe you can do one well without the other.
The Sr. UX Designer, DTC Web sits at the center of how Life360's digital experience looks, feels, and converts. You'll own the design execution across our web surfaces, from subscription plan selectors and checkout flows to device bundle pages and post-purchase flows. While simultaneously running the qualitative research program that tells us what customers actually need. You'll prototype tests, map journeys, conduct interviews, and turn session data into design decisions, all in close partnership with the DTC team, Creative, Product and Engineering.
This is a role for someone who is equally energized by crafting a pixel-perfect prototype and sitting in on a user interview. Who understands that the most important design decisions are grounded in evidence, not instinct. You thrive at the intersection of craft, curiosity, and commerce.
For candidates based in the US, the salary range for this position is $129,000 to $190,000 USD. For candidates based out of Canada, the salary range for this position is $149,500 to $176,000 CAD. We take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining final salary - therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of medical, dental, vision, financial, and other benefits, as well as equity.
Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Own UX/UI design execution across Life360's DTC web surfaces, including subscription plan selectors, checkout flows, feature enhancements, core page experiences, and onboarding flows. Advocate for our members and for the importance of good design standards/practices across the organization.
- →Prototype and design A/B and multivariate tests in close partnership with the Site Optimization Manager – translating experiment hypotheses into clean, testable design variants with clear rationale for each change.
- →Map the full customer journey across web surfaces (from app to post-purchase touchpoints), identifying friction, drop-off, and moments of delight that inform both short-term optimizations and longer-term roadmap decisions.
- →Partner with Product to lead qualitative research operations: plan and moderate user interviews, usability sessions, and concept tests; synthesize findings into clear insight reports and design recommendations that the broader DTC team can act on.
- →Synthesize qualitative signals (session recordings, heatmap analysis, user interviews) with quantitative funnel data to build a complete picture of customer behavior. Translating that synthesis into a prioritized design backlog.
- →Design with LTV in mind: make the trial experience compelling, reduce attachment friction, and provide feedback across onboarding and re-engagement flows that drive long-term subscription retention.
- →Maintain and evolve the web design system and pattern library, ensuring component consistency, accessibility standards, and visual coherence across all web and app surfaces and regional variants. Partner with Creative to explore visual design concepts and ensure brand standards are met.
- →Create detailed design specifications and work directly with Product and Engineering to ensure faithful implementation – reviewing builds, flagging deviations, and iterating quickly in response to technical constraints.
- →Partner with Merchandising and creative on Homepage, PDP, PLP and LP designs, wayfinding improvements, comparison tools, and buying guide UX. Ensure the product presentation layer is both visually compelling and conversion-optimized.
- →Contribute to the information architecture and taxonomy of the site, ensuring navigation, filtering, and search experiences guide customers efficiently from awareness to purchase.
- →Conduct regular competitive design audits and track emerging UX patterns in DTC, subscription commerce, and consumer tech. Proactively bringing relevant trends and ideas to the team.
- 5-8 years of UX/UI design experience, with a portfolio that demonstrates both design craft and research rigor – we want to see the process, not just the final screens. Please add your online portfolio link at the top of your resume when applying.
- Proven experience designing for eCommerce or DTC web environments, including subscription flows, checkout optimization, and commerce-specific UX patterns.
- Hands-on qualitative research experience: you've planned and moderated user interviews and usability tests yourself, synthesized findings, and connected them directly to design decisions.
- Proficiency with Figma for design, prototyping, and handoff; experience maintaining a shared design system or component library.
- Familiarity with session recording and heatmap tools (Noibu, Hotjar, FullStory, or equivalent) and the ability to extract design insights from behavioral data alongside your qualitative work.
- Comfortable using AI-assisted prototyping tools to quickly build and test working prototypes – not just static mocks or Figma prototypes.
- Working knowledge of A/B testing and experimentation. You understand how to design a clean variant, what makes a test readable, and how to scope changes that isolate the right variable.
- Strong systems thinker: you design components, not just screens, and can hold the full customer journey in mind while working on a single flow.
- Excellent communicator who can present design rationale clearly to non-designers. Including how research findings informed the approach and what tradeoffs were made.
- Native eCommerce web designer with deep expertise in responsive and mobile-first design across multiple viewports. Familiarity with how web experiences translate across regional markets is a plus.
- Collaborative by default: you give and receive feedback generously, work fluidly across disciplines, and treat Engineering constraints as design problems to solve, not obstacles to route around.
- Bachelor’s degree in User-Centered Design, Interaction Design, Visual Design, or equivalent.
