Junior Data Platform Engineer

About the Role: 

We're looking for a Junior Engineer to join our product engineering team. You'll work alongside senior engineers to build, automate & deploy LigaData Data Platform products. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone early in their career who wants to grow in data engineering, infrastructure, and DevOps.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of LigaData Big Data platform
• Support the setup and management of clusters across on-premise and/or cloud environments
• Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline deployment, provisioning, and routine operational tasks
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines for platform components and data jobs
• Assist in troubleshooting issues, and help resolve incidents
• Document deployment procedures, configurations, and runbooks
• Collaborate with infrastructure engineers, deployment teams and operations teams to improve platform reliability and performance

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• Basic understanding of Big Data concepts and distributed systems
• Familiarity with at least one scripting language (Python, Bash, or similar)
• Foundational knowledge of Linux/Unix environments
• Knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration concepts
• Familiarity with AI coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor) to support development and automation
• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to version control (Git)
• Exposure to Big Data tools (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Hive, or similar)
• Familiarity with automation/configuration tools (Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, or Chef)
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)
