The Electrical Superintendent is responsible for the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of electrical and electronic systems across assigned vessels. This role serves as the primary shore-side technical lead for shipboard electrical matters, supporting maintenance, troubleshooting, drydock planning, projects, compliance, and system reliability across the fleet.
- Provide technical support to shipboard engineering teams for electrical system operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability.
- Serve as the primary shore-side escalation point for complex electrical, automation, navigation, communication, and related system issues.
- Plan and oversee electrical maintenance, drydock work, repairs, and upgrade projects.
- Ensure compliance with Class, Flag State, SOLAS, USCG, and company SMS requirements.
- Maintain technical records, support audits and investigations, and provide periodic reporting on vessel condition and key risks.
- Support purchasing, budgeting, vendor coordination, and project execution for assigned vessels.
- Conduct vessel visits to assess system condition, support troubleshooting, and identify improvement opportunities.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent maritime technical qualification preferred.
- Chief Electrical Officer certification or equivalent experience strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting electrical systems in passenger vessel or comparable maritime environments.
- Strong knowledge of marine electrical systems, safety practices, planned maintenance systems, and technical documentation.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Requirements
~1 min read- Ability to travel internationally up to 25%.
- Ability to work onboard vessels, climb ladders, and occasionally work outside normal business hours.
- Strong preference to candidates based in the Seattle area; this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days/week in our Seattle-based office.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills; basic Spanish proficiency would be an asset.
- Regular standing, walking, climbing, and movement onboard vessels and in office environments.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and occasionally more.
