Liquid Personnel is seeking an experienced and confident Senior Social Worker to join the Safeguarding Team in Manchester. This is a key leadership role where you’ll support complex casework, mentor junior staff, and contribute to high-quality safeguarding practice across the service.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments of children and families where there are concerns about abuse or neglect.
  • Develop and implement child protection plans in collaboration with multi-agency teams.
  • Undertake statutory visits to monitor the safety and wellbeing of children.
  • Prepare and present reports for child protection conferences, court proceedings, and other formal meetings.
  • Work closely with families to promote positive change and reduce risk to children.
  • Liaise with professionals such as police, health workers, teachers, and legal representatives.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in line with statutory requirements.
  • Participate in strategy discussions and planning meetings regarding safeguarding concerns.
  • Provide support and guidance to children and families during crisis situations.
  • Ensure all actions comply with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures (e.g., Children Act 1989/2004).
  • Attend and contribute to supervision sessions and team meetings.
  • Advocate for the rights and needs of children and ensure their voices are heard in decision-making.

Requirements

To be successful in this role you must have, 

  • Social Work England registration
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Degree in Social Work or equivalent
  • Significant post-qualified experience in safeguarding or child protection
  • Experience in mentoring or supporting less experienced social workers is desirable
