MRI Technologist

The MRI Technologist operates the magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce quality images of the body for diagnostic purposes.

1. →Prepares exam room following procedural requirements; performs equipment calibration as the institution requires.
2. →Responds to patient questions and concerns regarding exam procedures and processes
3. →Perform complex tasks associated with operating high-field magnets and related equipment to produce quality images of specific body parts.
4. →Initiates peripheral intravenous line: documents IV sight, contrast media, and volume in the radiology flowchart.
5. →Prepares and properly positions patients for MRI scans while maintaining the safety of patients and staff.
6. →Thoroughly screen patients and anyone who may accompany them for MRI safety before procedure performance.
7. →Start IVs and administer contrast media as directed by the Radiologist per protocol.
8. →Monitors the patient’s physical condition to ensure their comfort during the procedure; reports a patient change of status or emergency to clinical staff, supervisor, and/ or Radiologist.
9. →Provides images, data analysis, and patient information to the physician for diagnostic interpretation.

• Minimum 1 year of experience working as an MRI Tech
• Ability to work independently and with other team members.
• Ability to organize and complete work in a timely manner.

Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology with specialized MRI training/certification.

Bilingual (English/Spanish fluency required).

• Radiography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging License required (R.T.(R)(MR)(ARRT))
• CPR Certificate
