UH: Facilities Management (Full Time, Day)

Job Summary: The Supervisor-HVAC performs a variety of skilled tasks related to preventive maintenance, installation, alterations and repairs of the HVAC and Refrigeration equipment. Supervises HVAC staff, organizing projects and all unforeseen, emergent repairs. Develops a plan-of-action when responding to on-call rotations, which oversees all facility trades. Provides services for LLUMC and its affiliates. Performs other duties as needed.

Education and Experience:  Minimum five years of related trade experience required. One year of supervisory experience preferred.

Knowledge and Skills: Able to read, write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Knowledge of concepts and electrical principles used in AC and refrigeration; to include meters circuits, contactors, relays, thermostats, pressure switches, motors, overloads, circuitry and troubleshooting, low and high pressure centrifugal water chillers, screw type water chillers, hydronic piping and pumping system, and safe electrical practices. Knowledge of the design, assembly and operation of compression systems to include basic liquid and vapor control, metering devices, design and construction of system piping, including techniques of leak detection, dehydration of systems, charging methods, recovery and troubleshooting. Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate and accept direction. Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; work well under pressure; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; work independently with minimal supervision. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.

Licensures and Certifications: Valid Driver's License required at time of hire. HVAC EPA certification required within 90 days of hire date.
