HARDWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

Hardware development engineers are the go-to problem solvers at Long Wall. They are versatile – working in the lab as often as at their desk and owning products ranging from fluid manifolds and tubing systems to primary structure to avionics enclosures. Regardless of their focus, they take their products from concept to delivery, owning every aspect along the way.

Total ownership of Long Wall engineering products, from ideation through design, manufacturing, qualification, and field support.

B.S. in any engineering discipline from an accredited university AND

5+ years of industry experience in a related design or development role.

Master's degree AND 3 yrs of experience

Ph.D and no experience

Proficiency in CAD design software (e.g., NX, CATIA, CREO/Pro-E).

Strong analytical capability using hand calculations and finite element analysis tools (e.g., ANSYS, ABAQUS, NASTRAN).

Firm understanding of manufacturing processes, GD&T, and DFM principles.

Ability to develop scripts in Python or MATLAB for automation and analysis.

Strong understanding of structural mechanics.

Strong understanding of compressible/incompressible flow dynamics and thermodynamics.

Demonstrated ability to write and execute test procedures for complex hardware operations.
