The Building Engineer ensures the integrity of building systems by performing routine maintenance and minor repairs while supporting the efficient operation of equipment. This role provides hands-on support for general maintenance tasks under the supervision of the Chief Engineer or Assistant Chief Engineer.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Perform repairs in restroom facilities, including toilets and soap dispensers; clear drains using plungers and handheld augers.
- →Conduct general labor tasks, such as carrying, stacking, and sorting materials; debris removal.
- →Safely use employer-provided vehicles to travel for parts and supplies, adhering to all traffic laws.
- →Maintain and/or replace door hardware; handle minor furniture repairs and floor maintenance; and conduct basic painting tasks in equipment rooms; and perform general cleaning in mechanical spaces.
- →Perform maintenance tasks as assigned; conduct cleaning and inspections of engineering areas, mechanical spaces, and equipment.
- →Replace lamps, air filters, ceiling tiles, and fire extinguishers.
- →Communicate verbally and in writing with teammates, leadership team, vendors, tenants, and client employees in a professional manner, keeping the appropriate customer(s) informed/updated as needed.
- →Interact with tenants, engineers, and contractors while carrying out maintenance tasks.
- →Follow safety protocols and use PPE for all tasks; ensure compliance with OSHA, NEC, NFC, NFPA regulations at all properties; promote safe working environments by reporting hazards and participating in safety audits.

Requirements
