About Lucid
Quality | Arizona | Full-Time
At Lucid, we are creating an electric future without compromise. That means refusing to choose between performance and sustainability, design and engineering, ambition and integrity. We build world-class vehicles by pushing performance, efficiency, and design beyond industry limits, setting new standards with vehicles like Lucid Air and Lucid Gravity.
The people here—engineers, designers, operators, and builders—came from across industries and around the world because they wanted to work on a harder problem. They care deeply about mastering their craft and delivering work they're proud of. We trust you to take ownership, push beyond what is expected, and help write the playbook for what comes next.
By refusing to settle, you help shape the future of electric mobility and prove what's possible when craft and ambition refuse to compromise each other.
Assuring the quality of a premium electric vehicle begins long before Start of Production, and this role exists to guarantee the performance of body exterior and closure systems throughout product development, validation, launch, and production. As a Sr. Technical Quality Engineering Specialist (Exterior and Closures), you will embed quality engineering discipline from early design through production—applying core quality tools, leading root-cause investigations, and partnering across engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to resolve issues before they reach the customer.
Success in the first 12 months means embedding quality and manufacturability input early in exterior and closure design, closing cross-functional issues across prototype, DV, and PV builds, and confirming process capability so body exterior systems meet Class-A and fit-and-finish targets at launch.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 8+ years of automotive quality or engineering experience.
- Experience supporting exterior and closure systems, including body panels, fascias, trim, lighting integration, or closures.
- Strong understanding of GD&T, engineering drawings, and tolerance analysis.
- Hands-on experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and core quality tools.
- Prototype, DV, and PV build support experience.
- Proven root cause and issue-closure capability.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to perform the essential duties of the position, including understanding work instructions, safety procedures, and job-related communications.
