Lunar Outpost is dedicated to creating a sustainable presence in space, while also driving positive impacts here on Earth. We are seeking a talented, experienced individual to help define the future of lunar surface mobility in a fast-paced startup environment. This role has the unique responsibility of leading all marketing and communications efforts for Lunar Outpost worldwide. The ideal candidate will be an organized self-starter with an understanding of our target markets, analytics, social media, and be passionate about both the promise of exploring space and creating a positive impact on Earth.  

 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Engage with company leadership to create and implement strategic marketing strategies and plans with clear objectives at a brand and product level  
  • Project management and coordination of promotional efforts including social media, direct marketing, events, sponsorships, and public relations  
  • Manage the day-to-day marketing operations and oversight of 3rd party vendors  
  • Manage the marketing budget and expenses  
  • Create online marketing strategy and content, including writing copy  
  • Assist in creating and publishing concise and engaging customer-facing content including product information, website content, newsletters, PR pitches, and social media conversations  
  • Support sales through the creation of customer lists, development of media and content, identifying channels, and targeting trade show opportunities  
  • Plan and coordinate outreach events and media engagements  
  • Ensures brand consistency in all marketing materials  
  • Balance between online and offline strategies  

 

Required Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field  
  • 15+ years of marketing, communications, or other relevant experience   
  • Deep understanding of and passion for the space industry
  • Proficient in technology and driven to master new platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, LinkedIn ads, etc.)  
  • A strong understanding of the entire marketing and brand management process, focusing on leading campaigns from start to finish  
  • Skilled in strategic planning, with a keen ability to identify and capitalize on opportunities while optimizing company growth  
  • Experience managing content on social media platforms including LinkedIn, X, and Instagram  
  • Analytical, detail oriented, and adept at prioritizing tasks efficiently   
  • Discerning ability to screen proprietary data for content releases  
  • Strong demonstration of a "test, measure, learn" mentality  
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Media editing and production programs such as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe PremierePro  
  • Experience with multiple forms of marketing content, including podcast, blog, and video  
  • Experience translating technical content into accessible language for a broad audience  
  • Experience in a similar role within the aerospace industry and/or a technology startup environment, including industry standards 

 

Compensation & Benefits: Compensation level and base salary are competitively structured and thoughtfully determined based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, and the scope of the role.
