UDN, Inc is looking for a skilled, dependable Commercial Lead Carpenter to join our construction team. We need a versatile carpenter who can take ownership of assigned work, coordinate with our foreman and complete projects correctly without requiring constant supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Perform a wide range of commercial carpentry and general construction work
- Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and field dimensions
- Plan and complete assigned work with limited supervision
- Coordinate daily activities and priorities with the project foreman
- Direct and work alongside junior carpenters and laborers
- Identify field issues and communicate them before they affect schedule or quality
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional jobsite
- Protect completed work and maintain UDN’s standards for quality and craftsmanship
- Work productively with subcontractors, owners, and other project team members
Qualifications:
- 4-5 years of hands-on carpentry experience, preferably on commercial construction projects
- Broad experience with commercial interiors, doors and hardware, framing, drywall, ceilings, trim, blocking, and general jobsite work
- Ability to work independently and complete assignments without continuous supervision
- Ability to read construction drawings and understand project requirements
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
- Dependable, punctual, and committed to quality workmanship
- Comfortable guiding a less-experienced carpenter or laborer
- Strong understanding of jobsite safety
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Most of our projects are within Monroe County but we do range from Buffalo to Syracuse so some travel may be required on a case by case basis.
Compensation:
- $30.00-$37.00 per hour based on experience plus prevailing wage opportunities
