Markato is an online B2B marketplace connecting retailers in APAC with exciting and emerging brands from around the world. We provide retailers and brands access to new market opportunities in Asia as well as seamless online and offline infrastructure to thrive in the modern world. We are a group of passionate and experienced entrepreneurs, supported by global tier-1 venture investors and industry-leading advisors with offices in most major markets in APAC. The founding team is comprised of early employees at Deliveroo, Uber and Grab who led the launch and expansion of those marketplace startups across Asia over the past decade.

We are currently seeking talented and motivated students from top universities to join our team as interns, based in Hong Kong. The internship will last a minimum of two months, and will provide valuable hands-on experience in the dynamic field of B2B wholesale marketplaces. As an intern at Markato, you will work closely with the founding team, assisting in various aspects of the business including business development, merchandizing, operations, and strategy.

Students based in Hong Kong who will be available to work on a part-time basis during term time are preferred.

Assist in the onboarding process for new retailers and suppliers onto the Markato platform

Conduct market research and analysis to help inform business decisions

Help create content for print publications, EMS, social media, or other marketing materials

Participate in brainstorming sessions to generate creative ideas for improving the platform

Currently enrolled in a top university in Hong Kong

Self-starter and passionate about startups

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Detail-oriented and strong self-organization abilities

Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

Gain practical experience in one of the most promising startups in Hong Kong

Experience first-hand what it is like to build a business from 0 to 1
