Lifeguard

Under the supervision of the Recreation Supervisor, the incumbent will oversee all pool safety, usage, and injury prevention and monitor all aquatic activity.  Assists in the facilitation of programs and service to the aquatic patrons.  Assists the Recreation staff in the implementation of various parties and special events, as well as overseeing recreational areas other than the pool as assigned. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. Strong sense of teamwork, excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrated tact and diplomacy and self-motivated. Valid American Red Cross Certifications, Lifeguard Training R94, CPR for Pro-rescuer required. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; and outside weather conditions.  The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
