You’ll begin with a structured 7-week training programme, designed to prepare you for a career in quantitative research. This initial phase focuses on building the technical foundations and professional skills needed for the role, as well as forming crucial working relationships with the rest of your cohort.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Design, evaluate and continuously improve our automated trading algorithms
- →Build quantitative pricing models, for example American Option Pricing and Volatility Modeling
- →Research and analyse trading data to find and test trading opportunities
- →Progress through a structured onboarding programme with clear learning milestones
- →Build your foundation through theory and exercise-led training, led by Maven’s Head of Technology Training & Graduates
- →Learn about financial markets, our platforms and specific quant research field for OMM, apply your academic research abilities and learn how to perform research on real-world data of varied volume and sampling frequency across a variety of domains
- →Attend regular check-ins with the Quant Researcher and Emerging Talent teams
- A Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD student in applied mathematics, statistics, engineering or physics
- Relevant programming experience in at least one language (Python, C++, C#)
- Proactive interest in improving existing trading strategies and identifying new opportunities
- Motivated for quantitative research, financial services and trading, with knowledge of financial markets
- A willingness to adopt and utilise emerging AI technologies
- An entrepreneurial thinker with the ability to generate ideas, take initiative and drive innovation
- A critical problem solver and decision maker who can analyse situations, think clearly and make effective decisions
- An agile learner who is able to quickly acquire knowledge, take on feedback, adapt and apply insights across different contexts
- Able to synthesise information, resolve conflicting inputs, see the bigger picture, and translate complex information into actionable recommendations
- Collaborative and influential, able to build trust, work effectively with others and positively impact the team
- Results-focused and accountable, taking ownership and delivering outcomes reliably
