Billing Customer Service Representative

The Billing Customer Service Representative is responsible for providing high-quality service to internal and external customers by supporting billing-related inquiries, processing requests, and assisting with payment and portal navigation. This role acts as a key point of contact for insureds, agents, and internal departments, ensuring timely, accurate, and professional resolution of billing questions and issues.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Answer incoming phone calls and respond to billing-related inquiries from insureds, agents, and 
internal partners
2. Monitor and respond to billing email inbox in a timely and professional manner
3. Provide clear, accurate information regarding policies, invoices, and payment details
4. Assist insureds with making online payments and navigating payment systems
5. Explain billing statements, invoice dates, balances, and payment options
6. Guide agents and insureds in navigating the customer/agent portal
7. Answer basic policy-related billing questions such as invoice schedules, amounts due, and 
payment status
8. Document customer interactions and updates in appropriate systems
9. Collaborate with internal departments to resolve inquiries and escalate complex issues as needed

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. High School Diploma
2.  Strong customer service and communication skills
3.  Ability to manage a high volume of phone calls and emails
4. Strong attention to detail and accuracy
5. Problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task
6.  Proficiency with computer systems and multiple platforms

Working Conditions
1. Normal office environment with minimal exposure to excessive noise and temperature variations.
2. Willingness to travel among company sites as needed.
3. Will be required to stand and/or sit for extended periods.
4. Will be required to work with a Video Display Terminal.
5. May be required to do occasional reaching and bending.
6. May be required to occasionally exert physical effort (lifting/carrying) using appropriate equipment if needed.
