Salary Information
Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade.\r\n**A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education, training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies and Montgomery Personnel Board Rules & Regulations**\r\n
Nature of Work
The\r\nfundamental reason this job exists is to perform skilled journeyman level work\r\nin the repair of damaged automobile and truck bodies and painting automobiles,\r\ntrucks and other equipment.� An employee\r\nof this class is responsible for performing body repair work on a variety of\r\nautomotive equipment by using specialized body repair tools and equipment.� When damage has been repaired, the employee\r\npaints body surfaces.� Work methods are\r\ndetermined by the employee.� In addition\r\nto the repair work, the employee is responsible for painting automotive and\r\nother equipment.� Work is inspected upon\r\ncompletion to ensure repair work meets acceptable standards.� This position reports to a Master Auto\r\nMechanic.\r\n
Minimum Qualifications
�Must\r\nhave a High School diploma or G.E.D and at least two (2) years experience as an\r\nAutomotive Body Repairer and Painter.\r\n\r\nNOTE:� Qualifying education,\r\ntraining and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and\r\nabilities to perform the job will be considered.\r\n\r\n
Special Requirements
Employment\r\nis conditioned upon applicants acquiring and maintaining an Alabama Driver's\r\nLicense and providing Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) from the Department of Public\r\nSafety as proof of an insurable driving record.\r\nMust be willing to respond to Fleet Maintenance after normal working\r\nhours, work day or night shift, and be on-call 24 hours during emergency\r\nsituations or when deemed necessary by the Director or designated\r\nrepresentative.� Employees must furnish\r\ntheir own basic hand tools.\r\n
