Summary:
The General Labourer supports daily yard and processing operations by assisting with material sorting, equipment cleaning, maintaining a safe and organized work environment, and completing local deliveries to residential job sites using a one-ton truck.
Responsibilities:
In the position of General Labourer your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Must adhere to Miller Waste Systems safety protocols and must be familiar with Occupational Health & Safety Act.
Perform general yard clean-up and housekeeping duties.
Sort incoming wood loads as required.
Record windrow temperatures accurately and consistently.
Wash equipment and assist with maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Complete local pick-ups and deliveries to residential sites using a one-ton truck.
Safely load, secure, transport, and unload materials as required.
Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
Receive training in the operation of various pieces of equipment as required.
Provide backup support for processing operations when needed.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Competencies & Qualifications:
Previous experience with heavy equipment is considered an asset.
Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Previous delivery driving experience is considered an asset.
Valid G Class Driver’s Licence with a clean driver’s abstract.
Comfortable operating a one-ton truck and working around equipment.
Team-oriented with demonstrated safe working habits.
Ability to work days, afternoons, weekends, and flexible shifts based on operational needs.
