Demand Planner
Quick Summary
Be part of something incredible. Metals are necessary for our world, but mining historically faced issues with waste, sustainability, and inefficiencies. MineSense is changing that.
We are seeking a qualified Demand Planner to join our Operations team in Vancouver.
The Demand Planner is instrumental in ensuring the alignment of production, project, and customer spares demand through comprehensive planning. This coordination is facilitated by regular cross-functional meetings and the utilization of data-driven forecasting tools, which promote effective communication among departments and foster organizational collaboration and transparency. Proper alignment enables the company to consistently execute operations, uphold high service standards, and secure revenue across all business areas. Delivering consistent execution and superior service standards strengthens MineSense’s reputation and supports long-term business success by ensuring timely deliveries and reliable support for clients globally.
This position is responsible for clearly defining, prioritizing, documenting, and communicating demand before it progresses to supply execution. By providing a single, credible demand signal, the Demand Planner allows Supply Chain Planning to focus on execution and risk management rather than demand interpretation.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver with a deep understanding of how supply chain decisions influence business performance, as well as the ability to leverage digital tools to drive efficiency, visibility, and operational control.
- Take ownership of customer spares demand planning by managing forecast volumes, scheduling timing, and establishing prioritization. This involves closely monitoring customer needs and ensuring that spares demand is thoroughly planned and integrated within the overall supply chain strategy.
- Build accurate spares forecasts by incorporating data from the installed base, service agreements, failure rates, and historical usage. This approach ensures that forecasting reflects real-world conditions and supports proactive inventory management.
- Balance the demand for spares against production and project demand by identifying and communicating trade-offs as early as possible. This transparency enables the organization to anticipate and address potential conflicts, supporting smooth and efficient operations.
- Clearly communicate customer spares demand requirements to Supply Chain Planning. This proactive communication helps prevent reactive shortages and ensures that supply can meet customer needs without disruption.
