Mohawk Medbuy Corporation (MMC) is a national, not-for-profit, shared services organization that supports hundreds of health care providers across Canada, as well as child welfare agencies and other public sector organizations. MMC provides value-driven contracting and procurement solutions for medical/surgical supplies, pharmaceutical products, local sourcing, capital (equipment, FF&E and redevelopment) and nutrition solutions. Other services include data analytics, in-hospital support, warehousing/logistics, technology, procure-to-pay, and accounts payable.
With an emerging focus on sustainability and reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples, MMC is actively supporting the creation of a resilient value chain that incorporates environmental, social and governance best practices. Based in Burlington, ON, the organization also has offices in Toronto, Thunder Bay, Kingston, Brantford, London and Chatham, and a distribution centre in Oakville.
We are currently recruiting for a full-time HR Business Partner (Distribution Centre Operations) on a two-year fixed term contract to support our Human Resources team in an HR Generalist capacity. This is a hybrid position working out of our Oakville Distribution Centre.
Position Overview
Key Responsibilities
Provide general HR planning and guidance to the DC operation
Responsible for end-to-end handling of employee relations
Partners with DC Operations team to forecast and analyze workforce planning
Timely communications in order to maintain a highly engaged workplace culture
Maintains and refines Health and Safety regulatory compliance, policies and application of best practices
Provides advice and guidance to DC Operations on all HR related matters (policy compliance, interpretation, disciplinary and performance issues)
Main point of contact for all HR related employee queries
Performs talent acquisition and end-to-end recruitment activities of DC employees (hourly and salaried)
Oversees on-boarding of employees and reviews employment contracts
Manages WSIB claims, disability claims and MOL inspections/orders
Consults with management to develop and enforce company policies and procedures
Supports required business projects
Maintains and organizes employee training activities and programs
Facilitate internal and external communication on HR related matters
Conduct and resolve workplace investigations as required
Analysis of general HR metrics
Manage other Human Resources related activities as required
Qualifications and Skills
Post secondary education with a degree in related field i.e. Human Resources, Employee Relations, or equivalent combination of education and experience
5+ years Human Resources leadership experience in a Distribution Centre environment
Knowledge and understanding of government legislation including ESA and other regulations
Ability to assess and analyze operational, business and human resources management issues and objectives
Ability to work collaboratively and maintain constructive professional relationships
Ability to negotiate resolutions as well as handle informal interactions
Demonstrated competencies in planning, decision making and problem solving
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
Strong Employee Relations experience and knowledge and experience in Labour Relations
Change management experience
Health and Safety related experience. Health and Safety Certification is an asset
Achieved or working towards CHRP is an asset
Experience navigating Ceridian’s Dayforce is an asset
Experience working with a Unionized and non-Unionized workforce is an asset
Travel
Ability to travel to Mohawk Medbuy offices if required.
Required to be on the warehouse floor for investigations, employee meetings, inspections, etc.
Required to be available outside of regular business hours on occasion
As a condition of employment, you are required to submit proof of full COVID-19 vaccination to Human Resources.
Mohawk Medbuy is a HOOPP employer offering a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits package and flexible remote work policy. The targeted hiring range of this role is $82,921 - $94,148 dependent on experience. This job posting is for an existing vacancy.
