The team works with leading refurbishers and a growing network of sales agents and outlets to bring warrantied devices and flexible instalment plans to customers across Kenya, with ambitions to scale across Africa. About the Role
~1 min readWe are looking for a high-energy, commercially sharp Brand Promoter to represent MoPhones on the floor at our Carrefour location. This is a contract role with one clear purpose: convert in-store footfall into sales. You will be the face of MoPhones at the outlet — educating customers, closing cash transactions, and routing financing-interested customers to the right internal channel.
The role is fully onsite and reports to the Junior Marketing Manager.

In the first 90 days, the Brand Promoter will get up to speed on the MoPhones product range, pricing, and sales process, and will be expected to hit the ground running on daily sales targets from week one.
Key focus areas in the first three months:
Master the full MoPhones product range, pricing tiers, active offers, and renewed device value proposition.
Consistently hit or exceed daily cash sales targets at the Carrefour outlet.
Establish a clean, reliable lead handoff process with the telesales team for financing-interested customers.
Maintain a professional, fully stocked, and visually strong product display at all times.
Beyond the initial ramp, the Brand Promoter will operate as a dependable commercial presence at the outlet, contributing to campaigns, activations, and any expansion of the MoPhones in-store footprint.
Focus areas after month three may include:
Sustaining and growing cash sales volume month-on-month.
Supporting in-store activations, product launches, and promotional campaigns.
Contributing competitor and customer insights that inform pricing and commercial decisions.
The Brand Promoter will be measured against these success metrics:
Sales Performance
Daily and weekly cash sales targets met or exceeded.
Number of units sold per shift.
Revenue contribution vs. outlet target.
Lead Generation & Handoff
Number of financing leads identified and referred to telesales per week.
Quality and completeness of lead handoffs (tracked by the telesales team).
Customer Experience & Merchandising
Display compliance score (stock visibility, cleanliness, organisation).
Customer satisfaction and complaint rate at the outlet.
At least 1 year of retail sales or brand promotion experience, with a demonstrated ability to hit targets.
Strong communication and persuasion skills; you can confidently approach and engage walk-in customers.
Commercially driven — you understand that sales conversion is the job, not just product demonstration.
Comfortable working a rotating retail schedule, including weekends and public holidays.
Basic knowledge of smartphones and consumer electronics; you can answer customer questions without hesitation.
Smart, presentable, and brand-conscious in appearance and attitude.
Prior experience in a shop-in-shop or branded retail environment (e.g. Carrefour, Naivas, Samsung, Tecno) is an advantage.
